For the ten independent art pieces I already had most of them done I just had to do one more to have ten. So the last one I did was I drawing of a girl holding her phone with a big afro. At the top it say 'No Bad VibesBaby girl". The reason I put chose those words for a title was because I'm scared that at the end of the year I won't pass my classes and I have to go to summer school. That would be a bad day. Thats were the title comes into play. It's telling myself not to worry. Don't stress out about the unknown. Keep your head up Baby girl. The afro to me symbolizes larger than life. Because of how big it is and because most african americans are confident with their afros. This year was the year i finally got comfortable having an afro. It took m forever to be comfortable with it because people at high tech are very judgmental. So it made me afraid to let people see my natural hair. My hair isn't like everyone else's. It's not bone straight. It doesn't blow in the wind. Unless I blow dry it or straighten it. I guess what i'm trying to say is reason why i chose this piece was because this girl in the draw looked comfortable, reckless, fearless, and openminded. And i want to be all those things some day.
